Alice V. Polley

	Alice V. Polley, 96, of DuQuoin, passed away at 12 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2001 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in DuQuoin.
	Alice was a retired school teacher, she had taught at the DuQUoin High School from 1937 to 1965.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in DuQuoin and the United Methodist Women.
	She was born May 18, 1904 at Mifflin, Wisconsin, the daughter of W.T. and Violet (Greenhill) Walker.  She married Van Polley on June 24, 1949 at Beaver Dam, Wisconsin and he preceded her in death September 28, 1977.
	She is survived by two step-daughters, Mrs. R.W. (Marilyn) Heape of Ft. Meyer, Fla. and Mrs. Donald (Emma Joyce) Gilley of Park Forrest, Ill.; one sister, Lois Bird of Madison, Wisconsin; three step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters.
	Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 23 at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin with Rev. Max Borah officiating.
	Friends called from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home.
	 Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery at DuQuoin.
	Friends may make memorials to the First United Methodist Church or the Marshall Browning Hospital building fund.
